Julie Simou

With more than 16 years’ experience, Julie Simou is Head of the Data Management Section at Elpedison S.A., and responsible for the organization’s Data management strategy, utilizing Data Management and Analytics technology and services. She holds a Bsc in Informatics from the University of Ioannina and an MBA from the University of Piraeus.

Thalia Dimitra Doudali, PhD

Thalia Dimitra Doudali is an Assistant Professor at the IMDEA Software Institute in Madrid, Spain. She completed her PhD in computer science at the Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech) in Atlanta, USA, in 2021. She is a graduate of the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the National Technical University of Athens (2010-2015).

Elena Barla

Elena is the co-Founder and CEO of Among Doctors, a multi-awarded digital health startup helping physicians and healthcare institutions improve patient treatment globally. She is also a Sr. Director and Head of People Strategy and Digital Innovation Unit at Stanton Chase leadership advisory firm, helping companies in their digital transformation and innovation journeys.

Ioanna Zergioti, PhD

Ioanna Zergioti is a Professor at the National Technical University of Athens and Researcher in the field of laser bioprinting and additive manufacturing. The last four years she has focused on translating the innovative research on laser bioprinting technology for regenerative medicine applications into commercially viable products within our spin-off PhosPrint P.C
Kiki Theodorou is a Professor of Physics-Informatics at the department of Medicine at the University of Thessaly. She works on research and education, while, as a Radiophysicist, her clinical work focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of patients using radiation. She has a professional license and certification as a Medical Physics Expert, Radiation Protection Expert for medical radiation applications, Radiation Protection Expert for non-medical radiation applications

Kiki Theodorou, PhD

Kiki Theodorou is a Professor of Physics-Informatics at the department of Medicine at the University of Thessaly. She works on research and education, while, as a Radiophysicist, her clinical work focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of patients using radiation. She has a professional license and certification as a Medical Physics Expert, Radiation Protection Expert for medical radiation applications, Radiation Protection Expert for non-medical radiation applications
Maria Hlouveraki is an Assistant Professor at the Mathematics Department of the School of Sciences of the National & Kapodistrian University of Athens. She works in theoretical mathematics and specifically in algebra, in the field of representation theory. She just moved to Greece from France, where she worked for ten years at the University of Versailles.

Maria Hlouveraki is an Assistant Professor at the Mathematics Department of the School of Sciences of the National & Kapodistrian University of Athens. She works in theoretical mathematics and specifically in algebra, in the field of representation theory. She just moved to Greece from France, where she worked for ten years at the University of Versailles.

Aimilia Smyrli, PhD

Aimilia is an Astrophysicist (specifically a Solar Physicist) and she currently works at the Education Office at Demokritos as Science Communication Officer. She has worked as an Outreach Officer for 6 years in the UK. She worked for Isaac Physics and The Ogden Trust and as a lecturer for 7 years at UCLan. She had been abroad since 2007 and returned to Greece just a few months ago.
After 10 years studying as a chemical engineer, Eleni discovered that what drives her as a professional is helping others discover and improve their potential. After an interesting personal and professional journey, she settled on employability, which she teaches mainly to chemical engineering students.

Theodora Loukanari

After graduating from the Biotechnology department of the Agricultural University, and shortly before completing a Master’s in Medical Genetics, Theodora clinked her glass with Pint of Science Greece, of which she is currently co-director. Their goal is to bring science to the public in a relaxed and fun way!

Athanasia Petala, PhD

Athanasia Petala is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Environment of the Ionian University. Her research is focused on Photocatalysis and Advanced Oxidation Processes. Particular emphasis is placed on the synthesis of innovative catalysts and their applications in the fields of environmental protection and energy production.

Stavrina Devetzoglou

Stavrina is a Clinical Research Associate. Her primary role is to guide the research team in the conduct of a clinical study to protect patient safety and data integrity, as well as oversee required procedures in accordance with protocol and applicable law.

Marina Papachristopoulou

Marina is a Mechanical Engineer in a research and development department in a pharmaceutical company. She works on product design and development. Marina is also the founder of the Foggnos company while she is pursuing a PhD at the NTUA.

Areti Mourka, PhD

Dr. Areti Mourka is a PhD graduate from the Physics Department of the University of St. Andrews in the United Kingdom and received her B.Sc. and M.Sc. from the Physics Department of the University of Crete. As a technology transfer consultant, she has been actively involved in supporting SMEs and research laboratories in technology transfer, innovation management and funding search.

Ourania Tsitsiloni, MD, PhD

Ourania is a Professor of Immunology at the Department of Biology, EKPA. Graduated in Biology and Medicine, she worked in Germany and at “Agios Savvas” Hospital where she practiced in Biopathology. She is Head of the Flow Cytometry Unit of EKPA and Visiting Professor at the European University of Cyprus. She has four children, two graduated and two are still studying in Greek universities.

Marianna Christodoulou, PhD

Marianna is an Assistant Professor of Immunology, at the Department of Life Sciences, Faculty of Science of the European University of Cyprus. She is also the coordinator of the “Biology of Cancer” Master’s Program. She is also a collaborating researcher at the school of Infectious Diseases at the University of Glascow.

Yakinthi Batsi

Yakinthi Batsi is a Chemist with a Master’s degree in “Medicinal Chemistry” from the University of Ioannina. Since May 2022 she works at the educational organization SciCo – Science Communication as a Social Media Strategist. At the same time, she is completing her PhD at EIE in the field of pharmaceutical chemistry and works as a freelancer artist at the JAM pedals company.

Despoina Korentini

Despina Korentini is a philologist-historian, a graduate of the Faculty of Philosophy of EKPA and a distinguished educator of gifted students of the Hellenic MENSA. She has an Master’s Degree in Educational Sciences, specializing in a. Giftedness b. Learning Difficulties & is an Educational Consultant & Researcher in innovative educational methods. She is also a Theater and Art Critic, writing for “athinea”. She is also a chess athlete, employed as a teacher in the Piraeus Association.

Valasia Iakovoglou, PhD

Dr. Valasia Iakovoglou has over 25 years of international experience specializing in Ecosystem Restoration/Conservation with an emphasis on Biodiversity. She has more than 100 publications and is an editor/reviewer in more than fifteen international journals, one of them the IPCC. She has received several awards and is active in many scientific organizations such as MedECC, Secretary General of AIWCS-UNESCO, Executive Board of Directors of CSAYN Global in Africa and International Council of WTFI. Since 2018, she is the Director of the Ecotourism Sector of the UNESCO Con-E-Ect Headquarters

Maria Papathanasiou, PhD

Dr. Papathanasiou is Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering, Imperial College London. Her Life Science and Process Systems Engineering research group, aims to create mathematical models for the optimization of biological production systems and supply chains. Dr. Papathanasiou actively advocates and supports Diversity, Equality and Inclusion.

Era Taoufik, PhD

Era Taoufik is a neurobiologist, and with her team at the Hellenic Pasteur Institute, she applies and develops new cutting-edge technologies combined with the creation and optimization of cell and animal models, for the deep understanding of pathogenesis mechanisms and the discovery of new therapeutic approaches for neurodegenerative diseases.

Pandora Sifnioti

Pandora Sifnioti is the STEM Director at the Civic, Non-Profit Company SciCo. She is a chemical engineer, and since 2014 she has been actively involved in empowering teachers and youth through STEM education.

Panagiota Aggeli, PhD

Panagiota Aggeli is a professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering at University College London (UCL), UK. Her area of knowledge is fluid dynamics with specialization in multiphase flows. In recent years, she has been researching their applications in the intensification of industrial processes for the separation of critical and rare metals that are necessary in alternative forms of energy (wind turbines, nuclear energy) as well as for the production of contemporary structured products, such as emulsions.

Evanthia Pappa, PhD

Evanthia holds a PhD from the University of Edinburgh in the field of composite materials. After more than a decade in the university community, she chose to join the Technology and Innovation Office of Leonardo Spa, Italy as a Specialist Researcher of innovative materials optimizing their properties, costs and life span.

Nafsika Stavridou, PhD

Nafsika Stavridou has a Ph.D. in civil engineering from AUTH, a Marie Curie scholarship holder for post-doctoral research in the design of wind turbine towers, a degree in Organization and Business Administration from the University of Macedonia. She is also a certified Project Manager (PMP and PM2) and a postgraduate student of the English-language MBA program at EAP. She has experience as an engineer in both the private and public sector and is currently at the European Research Council as a seconded National Expert while maintaining her academic, consulting and research activities.

Katerina Ronga

Katerina is a Principal in the Risk Advisory department of Deloitte Greece for the last 3 years and responsible for the Sustainability Services for Deloitte Risk Advisory. Katerina holds more than 20 years of professional experience in a diverse range of areas, such as Sustainability, ESG transition & Climate Risk, Risk Management, Digital Controls, Process Management, Improvement and Automation, Data Analytics, Internal & External Audit, Business and Financial Controlling, Project Management, Quality, IT Security & BCM. She has extensive knowledge in corporate governance, strategy, technology and Information Systems along with new certifications design and implementation (ISO, SOC, SOX etc). Before joining Deloitte, Katerina has worked in a diverse range of multinational companies such as Deutsche Telecom Group / OTE Group of Companies, PwC, Microsoft and Wind that helped her build a holistic understanding of several business functions within an organization. Katerina holds a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Management and Business Administration from Athens University of Economics & Business and a Master of Science (MSc) in Information Technology Management and Organizational Change from Lancaster University (UK). In addition, she is Certified Information Systems Auditor – CISA and Certified Risk Management Assurance – CRMA.

Pavlina Nanou, PhD

Dr. Chemical Engineer with 15 years of experience on thermochemical processes for the production of biofuels. For the last 7 years she has been responsible for scaling up the innovative TORWASH technology from laboratory experiments to the first pilot plant. Since 2020 she is co-founder and managing director of the company of the same name.
