I am a Medical Doctor and a Ph.D. candidate at the Elmezzi Graduate School of Molecular Medicine at the Feinstein Institutes for Medical Research (FIMR), New York (USA). I obtained my Medical Degree from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (Greece), where I developed a particular interest in cardiac diseases and Pulmonary Hypertension as a member of Dr. George Giannakoulas lab, Professor of Cardiology at AUTH. I joined the Translational Neurophysiology Lab in NY under the supervision of Dr. Stavros Zanos, Professor at FIMR. My basic science research focuses on experimental Pulmonary Hypertension and the interplay between the neural and immune systems. Concurrently, my clinical research is centered on cardiac diseases in females and pregnancy.
My role in Greek Women in STEM is in the Public Relations (PR) team. My motto is “Building bridges, Cultivating connections”. My vision is to communicate our goals and vision to support and inspire as many female scientists as possible.
Even though my free time is limited, when I'm not at work, you'll find me at the gym taking a spinning class or boxing. Besides that, I love traveling and visiting new places!
